So I bid on the ’54. Then I waited and sweated and worried until there was 5 minutes left in the auction. That was the point I was outbid and I had to make a decision. Was I going to let this car go? Or was I going all in until it was mine. Going off a 30 minute conversation with the owner/dealer and just the pictures from the auction I decided to push all in. I was not going to let this one go. I had waited long enough to get my own classic. I didn’t care if I overpaid. This was the car I was going to make mine. This was the car I was going to build into the classic of my dreams, even if I had to replace every nut and bolt.

In the last 5 minutes the price of the car jumped more than 35 percent as I worked to outbid not one, but two other people. However, when the clock ran I out I was the one who was victorious! It took another week to arrange all the details of payment and shipping. I decided it was cheaper to ship it than to drive to Utah and trailer it back to Reno. If you ever need to ship a car I recommend you look up Layne Bailey in Ogden, UT.

The car arrived on Saturday March 26th, 2011.
